This Punjabi Cultural Council (PCC) has so far made many achievements. From the very beginning, the Council has been organising state level functions. The PCC has set on to promote, preserve, propagate and popularise the mother tongue Punjabi including rich culture and heritage of Punjab at National and International level. It would also carry out diverse activities and awareness campaigns in realizing the aims and objects to their logical finale.
The PCC would make sure, through peaceful dialogues, to get second language status to Punjabi language in those states where significance Punjabi speaking community has been residing which included neighbouring States like Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, New Delhi, Uttrakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Union Territory Chandigarh.
The Punjabi Cultural Council had presented prestigious Punjab Rattan award to the Education Minister Punjab Dr. Upinderjit Kaur (now Finance Minister) at Ludhiana on 18th December 2009 for her historical contribution in ensuring the Punjabi as an official language of the State as well as making Punjabi compulsory from class 1st to class 10th in all the schools. Besides, she created history by according due status and recognition to the Sikh martial art Gatka as a game in the schools, colleges and universities. (see activities)
The Council has raised its voice through the media to rechristen Rajasansi International Airport at Amritsar as Sri Guru Ramdas International Airport (see activities).
